STANDING AGAINST OPPOSITION
Opposition: resistance or dissent, expressed in action or argument.
Synonyms: hostility, objection, disapproval, criticis
Opposition is something we have all faced, in one capacity or another. You may be experiencing difficulty at your job, a conflict in your marriage, a crisis of faith, battling an illness, or any other form of frustration in your life. That is opposition!
Many of you are in pursuit of a dream the Lord put on your heart, but along the way there has been opposition. Perhaps you are surrounded by negative people, or you've been rejected because of your calling. This can damage your soul. As I've mentioned in previous blogs, your soul is your mind, will and emotions. When your soul is damaged, your ability to battle opposition is weakened.
RUN TO GOD'S WORD
If those closest to you are nay-sayers and dream squashers, then it's time to surround you with people who are chasing after God. It's also a sing that you need to chase after God. Dive into the Word, so that you can strengthen and encourage yourself. He will strengthen you, even if it feels like no one else believes in you, He does!
EPHESIANS 6:13 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to STAND
When we face opposition, we also face disappointment, dissatisfaction, discouragement, frustration, abuse, and all sorts of accusations. The enemy of our soul tries to distract you, and cripple you emotionally in an effort to make you quit! These things can damage us so we need to ask the Lord to heal our emotions over these things. 2 CORINTHIANS 4:8-9 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed HEBREWS 4:12 12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. As you apply God's word, and allow him to heal you, your faith will grow stronger, you will get bolder, and eventually you will see a change in the way you think and speak! You see, our Heavenly Father is not a liar! Scripture says that all things will work together for YOUR good. So, rejoice! Through opposition, and in difficult times - He is still working for your good! ROMANS 8:28 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. PHILIPPIANS 3:14 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. The pursuit of any goal or prize is that God be glorified in it. By removing ourselves, we can actually enjoy it all the more, because we accomplished that dream in and through Him! God will get the glory, and you get to enjoy the benefits!
PRAYER Lord, thank you for strength to overcome opposition. Thank you for the wisdom to be able to stand silently when needed, and Hear your voice. I give you permission to heal all brokenhearted pieces in me and any brain damaged thinking from a life full of opposition. Forgive me for believing such lies and forgive me for putting others in limited boxes you didn't design. I take the lid off now, and ask you to pour Your Spirit and Your way of thinking in me. Flood my mind with Your thoughts and remove all doubt, unbelief, shame and fear. In Jesus name! Amen!!!!
