Making A Difference
We have all been given the gift of being reconciled to God. We have also been given spiritual gifts. We need to discover these gifts and then use them to impart to others. We are all called as ambassadors for Christ in our everyday lives. So get off your booty and stop being a spectator! You have a job to do!
2 CORINTHIANS 5:20 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
As pastors, our job is to equip you, so that YOU can go out and do the work of ministry. Yes, you read that correctly! Scripture tells us that You should be out there ministering to your community!
Sadly, the perception in the modern church has been the inverse of that. All too often, that pastors have to do it all, and then some. That is why so many in ministry are worn thin and can get burnt out.
YOUR PASTORS NEED MINISTRY, and constant prayer.
EPHESIANS 4:11-12 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the ( equipping of the saints for the work of ministry,), for the edifying of the body of Christ, ROMANS 1:11-12 11 For I long to see you, that I may (IMPART) to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established— 12 that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.) 1 THESSALONIANS 2:8-9 8 So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to (IMPART) to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us. 9 For you remember, brethren, our labor and toil; for laboring night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.
STIRRING UP THE GIFTS
It is time for you press in to the Word of God and ask the Holy Spirit to stir your spiritual gifts within you. He placed them there, go ahead and ask Him to stir them up as you seek His face! Get together with some of your friends from church and pray over each other, lay hands on one another and grow in faith with each other, in the name of Jesus! 2 TIMOTHY 1:6 6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
you ARE CALLED
It is no accident that you are reading this devotional today. Whatever sequence of events that led you here was purposeful. It's time for the Body of Christ to realize how precious we are in the sight of the Lord. You are not an accident, or a mistake. You are called, and set apart for such a time as this. Press into His Word and dig deeper. Pray that He fills you with His Spirit and teaches you how to use your gifting and walk worthy of your calling!
JOHN 3:34 34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. ACTS 4:29-31 29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Prayer Lord Jesus, Let it be! I pray that these scriptures be fulfilled in the body of Christ. I thank you that we come together in unity and full of the power of the Holy Spirit to impart in each other, and use our spiritual gifts to strengthen one another. Unleash this power in us for Your glory! Let the miraculous begin as never before! Show us great signs and wonders!
In Jesus' mighty name, AMEN!
