The Winds Of Change
Sometimes the Lord will instruct you to do strange and unusual things. Are you willing to look foolish to those around you if the Holy Spirit asks it of you? Does man's opinion matter more than God's?
The Bible is full of examples of of people doing strange or out of the box things for the Lord. Let's look at a few of them now!
NAAMAN THE LEPER HEALED
Naaman is a leper who goes to see the prophet Elisha for healing.
Rather than meeting with him, Elisha sends his servant out with these instructions:
2 KINGS 5:10-11 10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.”
11 This made Naaman furious, the man wouldn't even come out and see him face-to-face and tells him to do this ridiculous thing in a muddy River, so he was refusing to do it, but he had a wise servant who spoke to him these words.
2 KINGS 5:13-14 13 And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” 14 So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
The takeaway here is not that God didn't want to heal Naaman, but rather He wanted Naaman to surrender and be obedient. Elisha could have very easily prayed for Naaman to receive his healing, or as the servants put it, asked him to "do something great", and Naaman (who had great wealth and power in those days) would have been more than willing to do it. However, pride almost stopped him from receiving his blessing.
Naaman had to humble himself and get into the River Jordan which was muddy and obviously not an enjoyable experience. In fact, NOBODY got in the river Jordan because it was so gross! That being said, because of this act of obedience, and following through with such a strange command, Naaman's skin was restored even better than it was before.
What is something the Lord has asked you do to that you have been too prideful, or afraid to do because of what others might think?
JERICHO FALLS FLAT
JOSHUA 6:1-5 1 Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in. 2 And the LORD said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. 3 You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days. 4 And seven priests shall bear seven (trumpets of rams’ horns) before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests (shall blow the trumpets.) 5 It shall come to pass, (when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn), and when you hear the sound of the (trumpet), that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him.”
The Israelites did as the Lord instructed and the walls of Jericho fell, just as He said it would. That being said, there required a great deal of obedience on their part. During those seven days, they were not allowed to speak. The Lord knew this was a strange task, and one that didn't make sense to most anyone. He wanted their silence to keep the doubt from sinking in. As a result, they were able to defeat the enemy and see a mighty move of God in the process!
Do you doubt the Lord when He speaks to you? Are you having trouble believing His promises are yes and amen? What is something you could learn to use "quiet obedience" in?
WATERS HEALED
2 Kings 2:19-22 19 Then the men of the city said to Elisha, “Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren.” 20 And he said, “Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. 21 Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, “Thus says the LORD: ‘I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.’ ” 22 So the water remains healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.
In this scenario, the water was so bad that the land and the people had become barren. The Lord instructed Elisha to pour a bowl of salt into the water source, and it would be healed. If your look at this logically, it sounds absolutely ridiculous. BUT, GOD!
These are all real examples in the Bible of how blessings always follow obedience. That's what the blessings in Deuteronomy 28 are all about - OBEYING GOD!
Jesus himself said this:
Luke 11:28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
I gave these examples to prepare your heart. Choose to listen and obey. Someday, the Lord may require you to do strange and unusual task(s) so that you may receive your blessings and be a blessing to others.
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SHOFAR
When Eugene and I were on our trip to Israel last May, I bought a ram's horn (also known in Hebrew as a Shofar). I knew I just had to have one! Since then, many of you may have heard me talk about using it and about what the Lord has revealed to me through this obedience. At the time, I knew it was an instrument the Israelites played on several occasions in the Word, however I had no idea what would be coming next, nor did I understand quite what the Lord was to instructing me to do.
These are my journal notes from this time period:
JUNE 24, 2016 The Lord instructed me to go out every day for 10 days and play the shofar in the four directions north, south, east and west.
JUNE 25,2016 Today after I have obeyed the Lord, He showed me this scripture. And also revealed that the squiggly things I had seen in a dream previously were shofars!
The shofar (ram's horn) is often used as an instrument of spiritual warfare... For example, the Torah (Jewish Bible/Old Testament) states, "When you go to war in your land against an adversary who is oppressing you, you are to sound an alarm with trumpets; then you will be remembered before the LORD your God and you will be saved from your enemies" (Num. 10:9).
The Lord instructed me to blow the shofar for 10 days: to the north south east and the west. He also began to show me the significance of blowing the shofar during the new moon and full moon as instructed in his word in Psalms 81.
JULY 4, 2016
The new moon was today. The Lord instructed me to blow the shofar at home, our church property, and Cornerstone Community Center. He also asked me to give away my horse away as an offering to Him. The Lord also reminded me of a song I had written more than 20 years ago that He had given me from Psalms 81. He said "The time is now."
JULY 29, 2016 As I woke up today, the Lord spoke to me and said, "Get and up go outside. SPEAK TO THE 4 WINDS OF CHANGE - MONEY COMETH TO ME NOW!"
I did as I was told in the name of YESHUA HA-MASHIACH AND JEHOVAH JIREH
I also searched the scriptures and found these below:
GENESIS 22:14 (NJKV) 14 And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”
2 SAMUEL 5:22 As soon as you hear the sound of marching (wind) in the tops of the poplar trees, move quickly, (shout) because that will mean the LORD has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army."
ACTS 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
WINDS OF CHANGE
Now, I know that some of you reading this may be thinking, "Oh my gosh, this lady is completely off her rocker!"
But, if that were truly the case, then so is the Word of God and the people who obeyed Him in it.
You might want to pick up your Bible and read more about the men and women who did some pretty strange and incredible things for the Lord.
The truth is, I really don't care what you may think about me, or about how strange this might seem to you. I only care what my Heavenly Father thinks about me, and I will continue to be obedient and move fully into a blessed life that He has for me, one that I could not even imagine for myself.
This is the second year in a row that the Lord has instructed me to blow the Shofar for 40 days During the Feast of Trumpets.
I don't know what will transpire during, or after this. However, I do know that since I began this journey of obeying the Lord in these unusual instructions - His provision at Christian Missions has increased, our services have been growing in numbers, we are seeing things take place that we never have before, properties have been given to us free of charge and properties that we have been claiming and believing for have begun to opened up for the purpose of expansion. But most importantly, people are hungry for the Word of God and desire to see the Kingdom at work on this earth! It's truly amazing!
The winds of change are here, and a mighty move of God is coming!
ARE YOU READY?
I found this Prophecy given in Jan, 2016 about the winds of change. When you listen to this I hope you are as moved by it as I was. May the Lord bless you and encourage you to obey his voice, and bring increase to every area of your life.
PRAYER Lord you truly are an amazing God! Help us not to resist the testing of our faith in the simple and the strange instructions. Give your people courage to hear your voice and obey what you tell them to do.
Say this out out loud:
Father, I am willing to look like a fool for You. I believe You when you said that your ways are not my ways and Your thoughts are not my thoughts. Grant me the ability and the grace to choose to be humble, and obey. In doing so, You get all the glory! Amen
1 Corinthians 1:27 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;
