Keys To Increasing Favor

As God's child, you have have His favor on your life and you should come to expect it everywhere you go. As your relationship with Him grows, you should feel like His favorite child because His love makes you feel that way. In His eyes, we are all His favorite!

PROVERBS 8:35

35 For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the LORD;

ISAIAH 30:18

Therefore the LORD LONGS to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have COMPASSION on you For the LORD is a God of JUSTICE; How blessed are all those who long for Him.

These scriptures are evidence that God longs to pour out His favor, compassion, justice and blessings on you. It is yours for the taking, a gift from Him. If you examine your life you will see where you have had it. But some of you may be looking around and see how evident it is on others and wonder why they seem to have more than you. Maybe it's time to examine yourself a little more and also dive into the scriptures more as to why.

HOW BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO LONG FOR HIM

The end of Isaiah 30:18 says, "How blessed are all those who long for Him"... Whoops!

Are you longing for God? Are you running after Him?

Let's look at the lives of those who did and see the EVER INCREASING FAVOR OF GOD on their lives:

ABLE

GENESIS 4:4

4 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering, So Able found favor in the sight of God.

Here we see the example of obedience to tithe and a pure heart toward God. Because of that, Able found favor in the Father, and was blessed.

NOAH

GENESIS 6:8-9

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

JOSEPH

Joseph found favor everywhere he went. He was his father favorite son, he had favor with Potiphar, he found favor with the Jailer, and ultimately favor with Pharaoh to become the second most powerful man in all of Egypt.

GENESIS 41:38-41

38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”

39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you.

40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.”

41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”

SAMUEL

1 SAMUEL 2:26Now the boy Samuel was growing in stature and in favor both with the LORD and with men.

JESUS

LUKE 2:52And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

What's cool about both Samuel and Jesus is the scripture says they increased favor with both God and men. That same favor is available to us! We just need apply the Word to our lives and believe it!

Other examples in the bible of men and women who increased in favor with the Lord were: Enoch, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Solomon, King David, and Mary to name a few. I encourage you to study each of these examples and ask the Lord what is was that made them so favorable in His eyes.

THE SECRET TO EVER INCREASING FAVOR

So, what's their secret? Why was the favor of God ever-increasing in their life? How do I obtain this and enter into it? The answer is in God's word. The common denominator all these people had is simple. They ran after God, and were obedient to HIS word. They delighted themselves in HIM, and HE poured out HIS blessings and FAVOR on them.

PRAYER

Father, Your words are wise and Your instructions are clear. May I be like King David when he said, "Your word I have hidden in my heart so that I will not sin against you." I choose to run after You with my whole heart and seek Your kingdom, like Your word says I should do. I can expect Your ever-increasing favor to be poured out in my life. I choose to obey Your word and watch You do wonders in my life. Thank you for your marvelous favor! I don't deserve it, but You long to give it to me! I receive it! I praise you for it! May it be so in Jesus name!

Amen
